All Over the Board

Many thanks to all those who left me comments after my first post.  What a lovely welcome!  I will try to answer some of you personally soon.  There is, however, this little thing of having a full time job that keeps me so busy.  I wonder if Sam would understand if I just stayed home now.  We are also quickly coming to the conclusion that we need another computer.  Sam was willing to help in any way this last weekend, but he spends a lot of time on it.  I really don't see him just turning it over to me any old time.  I am dreaming of a sleek little laptop and curling up on the couch in my pajamas.

That reminds me to say a major "Thank you" to Meredith for being my mentor on this undertaking.  When I was almost ready to post on Sunday, I told her it felt like I was about to deliver a baby.  I was so nervous and had been in labor for hours.  Then all of a sudden, I was at 10 centimeters and it was time!  Boom!  Out popped a blog baby.  And now, I have a brand new blog to care for.  Maybe if I plan a baby shower, Sam will give me that laptop.

I was hoping someone out there would send me a good "meme" to complete.  I love reading those on others' blogs, because I learn so much about the person.  Feels like you know them a little better.  I also love the humor that usually shines through.

When I come home from work at night, my favorite place in the whole world is sitting on Sam's lap.  Until we started ttwd/dd, I don't remember ever sitting on his lap.  We talk about our day and enjoy a few beers.  (IPAs are my new favorite.)  This is a time when Sam will ask me how I did with my driving.  That is at the top of our rules list.  I keep a daily journal so that I reflect on how I did that day with my rules. Once a week I read to him from my journal, and some weeks there is a reckoning.  My driving yesterday caused Sam to tell me I was skirting the edge.  A warning.

One night last week, Sam shortened our time together, because he had some task he needed to tackle on the computer.  I was a little disappointed.  I like that time to last at least an hour, but I went to change clothes and think about dinner.  When I came back, I went to stand next to his chair and just waited.  He saw me and without taking his eyes from the screen, asked me, "What's up?"  Smiling, I told him that I didn't feel like he had given me enough attention.  He swung his big office chair around and took my hand.  "Well, let's go take care of that," he said with a big grin on his face.  He marched my down the hallway to the bedroom and put me across the bed.  I started laughing as he opened his dresser to choose an implement.  "Pants down," was all he said.  He chose this new wooden kitchen spoon because he wanted to try it.  It was a happy spanking, but dang, that thing was nasty.  As he spanked, he kept asking me if I had had enough attention now.  "Yessir.  Yessirrrrr.  Yessir, I have!"  Be careful what you wish for.

  1. Ella,

If you read my blog, you will know I have a hateful relationship with our stupid, stingy wooden spoon too! Gabe seems to like to use it every time he spanks me!

I'm glad Meredithnwas able to help you get started. She is a great mentor and a great friend. So glad you are here with us!

  4. Hi Ella, oh I am not a wood fan either, blinking stingy those wooden spoons! I have a little notebook, like a laptop but smaller and cheaper. I am the only one who uses it, don't laugh but I saved my Tesco points ( a big supermarket chain) to buy it. I love snuggling up with it and catching up with everyone else

    1. Hi Jan,
Thanks for the note. Sam decided it was time for me to have a laptop. I am hoping it is coming today! Maybe I can write my next post on my new toy. The last time we were in the UK, I went to a Tesco with a friend. It was fun to see what's in your grocery stores. I also learned to find the underground markets in London.
      Hugs to you,
      Ella
