The Double Whammy

Weekend "adjustments" are pretty much the norm at Sam and Ella's house.  Sam learned long ago that our days off together run much smoother and stay more peaceful after discussing things with Mr. Paddle.  I don't get all task-oriented and bossy.  My temper stays in check, and I remember our few but important rules.  I even usually stay patient with the Dreaded SIL.  We reconnect and are headed down the same path.  This adjustment can happen on a Friday night, especially when I have been at all snarky or on Saturday morning before we start our day.

Last Saturday Sam and Mr Paddle were reminding me of all the things that keep our weekends happy.  It certainly was not a fun spanking, but neither was it an awful one.  I thought I was paying attention.  Sam never rushes after a weekend adjustment.  There is plenty of holding me and reconnecting when he is finished.  I feel loved and usually quite well adjusted .  Reset and ready.

After kisses, we both headed off on our usual Saturday morning shopping and errands.  Sam was on his way to the grocery store, list in hand.  I was going to the Farmer's Market for fresh produce and
to get gas.  He was out the door before me when I added several errands to my list.  I thought to myself that I should have told him where else I was going.  That is a hard and fast rule for after work each evening.  I always file my flight plan by 4:00 pm.  He likes to know where I am.  However, he has never made a big deal out of it on a Saturday morning.  So I honestly thought of it but promptly blew it off.  So, there was the craft store and Walgreen's and even a specialty spice store.  Then finally on for the produce.  Never gave a thought as to how much longer than usual I was gone.

When I pulled up into the driveway, the garage door was already open and Sam came out to help with all the food bags like always.  I dropped the small bags from the other errands on the counter and went to the study to take care of something on the computer.  Just a few minutes later, Sam stood in the doorway and, with a furrowed brow, said, "I need to see you in the kitchen."  He used his index finger to beckon me to follow him.

Back in the kitchen, he pointed to the small sacks from Walgreen's and such, and leaning one hand on the counter, asked me where else I had gone.  That was my first clue that there was something
amiss.  Then I also looked at the clock.  Damn!  It was 1:30 pm.  I quickly did the math and realized I had been gone almost 2 and a half hours on a 45 minute errand to the market.  Did quickly apologize and explained all the little items for which I had shopped.

Sam had 3 questions.

  • Why didn't I tell him before we left the house?
  • Why didn't I think to leave a note?
  • Was there any reason I couldn't call?

There must have been 10 half-assed excuses that zipped through my head, but at last I finally just blurted out the honest truth.  I knew I should have, but I really just "Blew it Off."  Didn't think
he'd care.  Didn't think he'd notice.  Obviously, he did care, and he sure as hell did notice.  I was still astounded when he unbuckled my belt and then began to unbutton my jeans.

"I already had a spanking this morning," I protested.

"Well, it seems you really didn't pay close enough attention," he countered.

Jeans and panties down with a swish.  Bent over and I am still trying to negotiate.  Not having any effect whatsoever.  I am getting to be quite familiar with the pattern in our kitchen counter tops.

At first, I was relieved that he decided not to use an implement seeing as the crock on the counter was not even 3 feet away.  But after about the 4th swat, I was up on my toes.  Firstly, even his hand was being applied fast and very hard!  Secondly, I have never had 2 spankings in a 3 hour period!  OMG!  I was certainly paying better attention this time!

This spanking was punctuated with questions about what I should have remembered about making my plans known earlier in the day.  And Sam went on and on both with questions that required at least
a "Yes sir," as well as his hand being firmly applied.  I was in a
world of hurt before he finally stopped.  Have to tell you that having another spanking follow so quickly on a first left a whole new level of sting that was still felt when I went to bed that night.

I think that just explaining my error using the phrase, "Blew it off" kind of "Pissed him off."  Like I couldn't be bothered.  So I am very clear now that the rule applies on Saturday as well as on weekdays.  He made his point with this double whammy.  And I have no intention of investigating anything to do with a Triple Dog Dare!

  1. Ooh, great that Sam is following through but ouch Ella! Going for the Triple Dog Dare would not be wise! Two spankings within a short time frame is definitely a different level of pain, I have been there.

Just remember to file the flight plan next time :)

    1. It seems that some others of you all know exactly to what I am referring. The 2nd spanking did not hurt just twice as much. I think we were up in the times tables to at least 4X!

  2. I guess Sam wasn't too worried about your whereabouts as he didn't phone you but, I'm sorry my friend, I'm with him on this one. That's a long time to be past your expected ETA.

I'm sure you'll remember the flight plan in future. Glad you didn't go for the Triple Dog Dare.

    Twenty days and counting...

  3. If your paddle is anything like the one you gifted me, I bet you still felt a spanking a couple of hours later. Glad things are back and you didn't go for a Triple Dog Dare.

    1. Sunny, Mr. Paddle was Sam's first contribution to ttwd. "Tried and True" he says. Absolutely have not forgot to mention an errand to him since.

  4. Ella,
I have been there with the double whammy. In fact twice before, spanked twice as Jack said that the first one wasn't hard or long enough to get his message across.

You have big things coming up and need to stay in better communication. You now know that to Sam's satisfaction. Right?

    1. Yes, Mere, you can bet I was paying attention during this double whammy.

Need to remember this lesson on our trip, too. I have a tendency to wander off. Especially if there is an interesting shop window.

  5. Sorry, but I find I need to have a little chuckle at your expense. You can get me back when we get together! Actually, I think you are extremely brave to consent to a paddle if it is like the one you gave me! I have hidden that horror in the bottom of my chest of drawers, never to see the light of day again. LOL! It is vile!

However, I can own up to being spanked SEVERAL times during a session. Simply due to the fact that I don't always take things seriously, and Dan will then start all over again. And again. And again.

Like you, I always have had to inform Dan of my whereabouts. But fortunately he doesn't often "clock watch" so I rarely get caught out. Better be good and keep your head down. After all, you will soon have me leading you astray!

What, by the way, is a triple dog dare? Is it a hat trick? I'm not really sure.

    1. Ami,
Sam didn't even make that implement, but you are right about it being a horror. Mr. Paddle has been field tested extensively.

Ooooh. Starting over again! Avoid that redundancy.

Can't wait to have you lead me astray! I am always a ready for an adventure that leads to shoe shopping.

Triple Dog Dare comes from a favorite movie of mine. You don't just dare someone to do something. You double dog dare or even triple dog dare!

  6. Ella a double whammy oh boy! I can understand Sam being worried when you were so long over due home. Bear asks for my plans before I leave home and wants to know my ETA.
Definitely don't go for the Triple Dog Dare that would be way too much in one day.

  7. Saturday's are a point of friction here. It's a time we get to spend a little longer in bed in the morning and often end up getting very close! H will say that this is followed by what he calls my 'Saturday Morningitis' - getting surly and argumentative once I've had my way with him!!! Although he has not instituted regular attitude adjustments prior to the event (don't think he's thought of this!), it is an often occurrence for me to end up bent over the bed being reminded of what reactions are and are not acceptable!
As for your double whammy it's certainly a direction I think we all need to avoid. I had one once when I made a stupid comment following a correction when he picked up the paddle and started again, but I wonder whether leaving a couple of hour gap in between rounds makes it even worse. I'm not prepared to test the hypothesis - do you know or are you prepared to find out?

    1. Beware of "Weekend Adjustments" Janey. I do think that your nomenclature fits me to a tee on Saturday mornings, too. "Saturday Morningitis" sounds like a condition to avoid.

  8. Sorry Ella but I had to laugh...took me back to, before cell phones, when I didn't leave notes and my butt paid the price. I do believe the 'blew it off' phrase may have earned you a few extra whacks. Oh and yes...spanking on an already sore butt is never fun! Hope you don't have a repeat performance any time soon. ;)

    Hugs and blessings...Cat

    1. Yes, Cat, the words that I chose did not help the matter at all. And your advice made me smile. "Reapeat Performance" could have multiple meanings.

  9. Oh....had to laugh a little. We want to notice us...to care what we do, where we go...and then...they do and WHAM!!!! I have been there...best just to always leave a flight plan....and to text or in my case call about any change of plans. Two adjustments in 3 hours....you got me beat....and I do not wish to best you...

    1. To be completely truthful, this was a problem long before ttwd. It's just that now, Sam has a way to seriously remind me of his views on the matter.
